From and to the Phuket International Airport:

    From the Airport
    There is a “Taxi Meter” stand at the far right end after exit the airport. The taxis are red and yellow.
    The fee for taxi to Movenpick Hotel (Karon Beach area) is ranged about from 500 to 650 baht. Please note this charge is for the taxi, not per head, and you may have to pay a fee of 100 baht on top of the taxi-meter fare. The trip will usually take approximately one hour to Movenpick Hotel (Kata/Karon Beach area).
    Please also note even it says “Taxi Meter”, all taxi at Phuket are not metered and have to negotiate prices. The normal price from hotel to town area is about Baht 500.
    By the way, the average fares from the airport are Phuket 400 baht, Patong 550 baht. It will take around 30 minutes to Phuket, 40 minutes to Patong Beach.
    To the Airport
    The taxi from city is Baht 1300 while the limousine from the hotel is Baht 1500. You could also book the airport taxi one day in advance which would be Baht 500. Make sure you get the telephone from the Airport Taxi if you want to book the return trip.

Phuket Information

    Quick Facts
    Phuket is the largest island in Thailand. At 540 km sq, it’s about the same size as Singapore. Just over an hour’s fight from Bangkok or Singapore, and with daily connections to most major Asian airports, Phuket is ideally situated for a short break or a relaxing vacation.
    Business Hours
    Generally 9am to 5pm, weekdays, and 9am to 12 noon on Saturdays. Shops and local stores open from 10 or 11am to 10pm, daily.
    Banking hours
    Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm. Some branches, including those located in shopping centres, are open as late as 7-8pm and on Saturdays. Currency exchange booths are usually open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Twenty-four-hour ATMs are widely available, and most accept cards using international banking networks such as Cirrus or Plus.
    Electricity
    220 Volts. Several different plugs and sockets are in use, but two pin flat (US type) or round (European type) are pretty universal. Adapters can bought at local stores.
    Phuket Weather
